Giving thanks improves mental, physical and emotional well-being, this has been proven so they say. This made me think? Do I say thank you enough? Am I grateful for the life I have or am I complaining that it could be better? Am I ever satisfied?
I have read that being thankful, grateful, call it what you will, for the now things in your life opens your heart, it creates an opening to receive more of this beautiful vibe of thankfulness, of happiness, contentment of simply being. It says you know what “just for today” (I am not going to think of tomorrow), I am going to be thankful for my life, right now. Look what I have got! I am so happy, everything is okay.
So I am going to jot down a few or as many things that I am grateful for little things at first. Say having a lovely pair of shoes (some people don’t have any), toothbrush (some people don’t have one), an umbrella (you know what I am going to say next). I am going to do this right now and maybe do this whilst listening to my favourite song, that I am also grateful for.
Thinking about my reasons to be grateful even before I list them down is making me smile already. Why don’t you join me.
PS – Research says that being thankful opens the doors to more things to be grateful for, that’s so lovely.
